AutoRek joins Trees for Life

In December 2020 AutoRek joined the Trees for Life initiative and we are excited to have our very own tree grove in the Scottish Highlands. Trees for Life main mission is to rewild the Scottish Highlands by enabling the restoration of the Caledonian Forest which once covered much of Scotland. Integral to their success is the involvement of people.

We started our tree grove with 86 trees, one for every employee at AutoRek and the plan is that we will add a tree to our grove for every new member that joins our ever-expanding team. The trees in our grove will be carefully planted in protected sites in the Scottish Highlands where they will create homes for wildlife and forests for the future.

As a company, we are very conscious of our corporate social responsibility and are always researching different initiatives to get involved in to aid charities, offset our carbon footprint, pave the way for a cleaner environment or just simply to do our bit and give back. We thought by planting more trees in our very own grove in Scotland where we began and remain headquartered, was a great step forward in offsetting our carbon footprint.

We are also pleased to let everyone know that we have adopted Benjamin the beaver. There was lots of chat around naming the beaver and many great suggestions including Justin Beaver and Otto Rex! Our sponsorship money goes towards researching, looking after and habitat restoration for the beaver population across Scotland.
