Our community

At AutoRek, our community initiatives range from charity events and initiatives all over Scotland, to working with local young people in order to develop their skills and confidence for a successful future.

Career Ready

At AutoRek, we have 10 employees involved with the Career Ready, a mentoring programme for young people. The mentors help further develop the young person’s key life skills including communication, problem solving and organisational skills. We also provide the young people with a Summer Internship opportunity where they are invited to work in our office to help them gain vital experience in the world of work.

We believe that through our contribution to the Career Ready programme we help young people to develop essential skills that they will use when entering the world of work. Our regular meetings help them to develop confidence and communication skills, and our Internship programme helps them to gain experience in the workplace.

We continually support the Beatson Cancer Charity and many other charities throughout the year. AutoRek host several events and activities throughout the year to raise funds for these worthy charities. These include sponsoring charity balls, space hopper races, office bake-offs and a Ben Nevis Trek, or even just ordering our food from Social Bite. Last year we donated our Christmas card fund to Shelter Scotland and after a ‘virtual night at the races’ during lockdown, we also donated £500 each to Shelter Scotland, Women’s Aid, St Andrews Hospice and Social Bite.

The charities are extremely close to the hearts of AutoRek employees and we are delighted to be able to help in every way we can each year.

MCR Pathways

Some of our employees are involved with MCR Pathways, a school-based mentoring programme for young people. They support those in or on the edges of the care system to help them realise their full potential through education. By meeting with the pupil once a week in their school for an hour, a relationship and trusting mentorship builds up over time.

MCR Pathways is a fantastic programme that started out in Glasgow and has since expanded nationwide. Or team are proud to give back to our local community by getting involved.
